Irish Dance Classes for everyone
At Canberra Irish Dance, we celebrate the fantastic combination of fun, exercise and dance! A perfect way to get moving, kids aged four and above can enjoy learning a new style of dance and making new friends along the way.
Irish dancing is a worldwide athletic form of dance. It helps children form balance, coordination, fitness and is a great way to express yourself in a supportive environment. Students can dance solo or in teams, but most importantly you’ll be able to show off those happy feet!
Give Irish dance lessons a try with the first one on us!
Led by an experienced Irish dancer with almost 20 years under her shoes, students will be nurtured with tailored teaching and encouraged to let their dance skills flourish and have lots of fun at the same time. Classes will be mix of skills and fitness levels, with team dance activities as well as traditional dance moves.
If this is something new that your child would like to try, we have good news. The first class is absolutely free! Beginners classes run for 45 minutes to 1 hour and we offer adult classes too! About your Irish dance teacher
The founder of Canberra Irish Dance, Gabrielle Dinn, started Irish dancing when she was seven years old. In her 17 years as a competitive dancer, Gabrielle was part of an Australian Champion team, achieved an international placing at the North American Irish Dancing Championships in Montreal and numerous state team titles and top three state placings.
Gabrielle’s passion for Irish dance inspired her to start her own dance school so she can share this form of dancing with others. She graduated with her TCRG from CLRG in 2016, receiving the official recognition of her achievements at a graduation ceremony in Ireland.
Dancers will be provided with opportunities to dance competitively as well as to experience the joy of this traditional style of dance. Gabrielle also prides herself on fun and fitness. She has her Certificate III in Fitness and is a certified Zumba, Zumba Kids + Kids Jr, and Strong by Zumba instructor.
Only a few weeks to go before our dancers compete at the Australian Championship being held at Exhibition Park in Canberra, 1-6 October. This will be the first time our dancers have competed at an Australian Championship.
